VM-8594: Wildlife Medicine
Description: The course will include discussions on the regulations and ethics covering the rehabilitation and release of native wildlife. Lectures will cover the major infectious diseases, parasites, toxicities, injuries and other problems of wildlife. Common treatments, methods and equipment used to care for and rehabilitate these animals will be discussed. Species covered will include native mammals, wild songbirds, and raptors. Pre: second-year standing in the DVM curriculum.
