UAP-1004: Introduction to Career & Professional Development in Public Service
Description: This course introduces the academic requirements and potential career fields for the Environmental Policy and Planning (EPP) and Smart and Sustainable Cities (SSC) majors. It is designed to assist new and transfer students with academic planning, career exploration, and the job search process. In addition, students will develop an understanding of professional competencies and examine how these competencies relate to a potential occupational field. During the course, students will develop the materials and skills needed to successfully apply for an internship or job. These materials will include the preparation of a cover letter and resume that respond directly to a targeted position. The skills include interview and presentation techniques.
