Description: Analyzes the emergence and impact of contentious mobilization in the U.S. and global cities. Includes civil and labor rights, religious freedom, democratization, and other movements for equity and inclusion. Explores social scientific approaches to mobilization, countermobilization, and collective action. Impact of contentious mobilization on governance and planning in urban sites and spaces worldwide. Examines how movements manage and address internal diversity, including variation in members’ diverse experiences and objectives.
