SPAN-3574: Spanish for Legal Professions
Description: Specialized course applying knowledge of the Spanish language and its cultures to the legal professions. Contextualized use of specific vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, grammar structures, and cultural practices in real-world situations and written formats. Cross-cultural discussions on legal issues in the Hispanic world. Analysis of legal topics and concepts related to Spanish-speaking populations in a global context. Examination of Hispanic cultural artifacts such as film and narrative that explore issues of cultural, ethical, and linguistic diversity in the legal professions. Analysis of political and cultural history of the Hispanic and Latino populations in the US. Taught in Spanish.
