SBIO-3314: Mechanics of Sustainable Biomaterials and Packaging

Description: Mechanical properties of sustainable biomaterials and packaging materials including concepts of stress, strain, Poissons ratio, orthotropic properties, tension, compression, bending and effects of moisture on mechanical properties. Current issues related to sustainable biomaterial and packaging material use in industry. Standard methods of evaluating important mechanical properties of solid wood, composites, packaging, paperboard and fiber.
