Description: Introduction to the fundamental principles of neuroscience. 2025: Structure and function of the nervous system. Cellular and molecular basis of neuronal signaling including electrical properties of neurons, synaptic transmission, and integration. Neurotransmitter systems and molecular signaling. Neural development and synaptic plasticity. 2026: Systems-level overview of the central nervous system. Sensory systems including olfaction, temperature, and pain. Retinal control of vision.
