Description: Introduction to basics of petroleum and natural gas engineering. Concepts of conventional and unconventional fossil fuel energy; basics of rock mechanics and reservoir fluid properties. Concepts of drilling and completion engineering. Concepts of hydraulic fracturing; basic knowledge of formation evaluation and various rock types. Basics of geophysical monitoring methods; basics of different oil and gas reservoirs; basics of production engineering and fundamentals of recovery mechanisms, discussion of petroleum and natural gas social and policy issues.
