ISE-5654: Human Factors System Design
Description: Human factors engineering input into operator-system/product design, development, testing, and evaluation. Emphasis on a systems-oriented and human-centric approach to achieving effective human-machine interfaces. Application of standards, codes and guidelines, as well as empirical methodologies and analytical techniques, to human interface applications and problems. Coverage of human sensory/perceptual capabilities and limitations, with particular emphasis on vision and hearing. Project involving analysis and redesign of an actual device or system with known human factors deficiencies. Pre: Graduate standing.
