ISE-3204: Manufacturing Processes
Description: Survey of manufacturing processes including casting, forming, machining, welding, joining, and nontraditional processes such as electrical-discharge machining. Basic manufacturing materials and their properties, structure of metals, metal deformation and heat treatment. Mathematical modeling of common manufacturing processes; process planning and the effect of plans on cost; impact of product design on manufacturability and assemblability. Recent trends in manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing. Also includes topics in inspection and testing, computer-aided manufacturing, and numerical control.
