Description: Advanced application of behavior change theories, counseling strategies, and client-centered communication skills to meet needs of diverse and complex individuals with a variety of goals and conditions. Effective counseling interventions based on the nutrition care process, evidence-based guidelines, counseling ethics, scope of practice boundaries, motivational interviewing, health literacy, cultural sensitivity and humility. Interdisciplinary collaboration with peers and professionals to optimize client outcomes and refine counseling strategies. Explore contemporary nutrition issues and quality improvement efforts in counseling practice.
