HIST-2264: America in the 1960s
Description: Surveys the political, social, and cultural history of the U.S. over the long Sixties (mid-1950s to mid-1970s). Examines the civil rights movement, Vietnam War and antiwar movement, identity politics, cultural revolutions, American liberalism, and American conservatism. Explores how intersection of race, class, gender, ethnicity and age shaped varying experiences of the 1960s. Emphasis on the study of source materials and historical interpretations.
