Description: Project-based learning approach to disaster resilience and security with an emphasis on preparing for, responding to, and managing natural or human-induced disasters. Focus on interdisciplinary teamwork informed by disciplinary perspectives in hazard and impact analysis as well as policy, planning, and response operations. Investigation of the dynamic interplay among social and cultural impacts, information technology, geological and environmental factors, and engineering issues. Practical application of theoretical foundations to specific threat scenarios through projects and guest speakers. Pre: Graduate standing.
