Description: Overview of major events, currents, ideas, works, and figures in French culture from World War I to the present, a period characterized by colonialism, world conflict, and globalization. Analysis of literary and cultural works in their social and historical contexts, toward an understanding of the French language as a global idiom involving diverse worldviews and cultures. Critical reading and writing in French. Taught in French.
