Description: Science of reading in elementary literacy, definitions, components, and developmental theory. Analysis of the structure of English including syntax, semantics, morphology, and grapheme/phoneme correspondences. Focus on stages of development in: language development, reading, writing, phonological awareness, phonics, morphology, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Emphasis on research bases.
