Description: Plant breeding theory and methodology for the improvement of argonomic and horticultural crops; genetic diversity; polyploidy; gene inheritance, expression, interaction, and stability; incompatibility; male sterility; haploidy; genetic engineering and transformation; parental selection, hybridization, and population development; breeding methods, genotypic and phenotypic line selection and evaluation; strategies for cultivar development including marker assisted selection and breeding for durable disease resistance.
