CHE-5204: Applied Rheology
Description: Study of the flow and deformation of matter, with an emphasis on practical application in processing of polymeric non-Newtonian fluids. Differential balances to describe fluid transport and velocity profiles, properties and flow behavior of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. Rheology measurement techniques and analysis in shear and extensional flow fields. Process-structure-property relationships in polymer melts, solutions and suspensions. Chemorheology of reacting systems. Pre: Graduate standing.
