ART-2664: Introduction to Photography

Description: Introduction to the tools, techniques, and concepts of digital photography. Development of visual style, two-dimensional composition, and visual communication through iterative assignments. Application of formal analysis and intercultural interpretation of photographs through class critique as well as historical and contemporary examples. Examination of diverse viewpoints through readings and discussions on the role of photography in identity, culture, and politics. Course contact hour structure: Lecture (1H,1C), Lab (3L, 1C), Design Lab/Studio (2L, 1C). (1H, 5L, 3C). RESOURCE CHARGE.
