ART-2554: Introduction To Sculpture

Description: Introduction to the tools, techniques, and concepts of sculpture. Development of visual style, three-dimensional composition and communication through iterative assignments. Application of formal analysis and interpretive strategies through critique. Exploration of genres and practices of sculpture by analyzing contemporary examples and historical precedents. Examination of diverse viewpoints through readings and discussions on the role of sculpture in identity, culture, and politics.
