Description: First Year Experience course for students seeking entry into BFA degree program. Developing a successful path of study in the School of Visual Arts BFA degree using advising resources; introduction to professional and ethical visual arts practices through presentations with local and regional artists; visits to local and regional galleries; presentations by university faculty and staff related to the BFA. Introduction to visual thinking using the Virginia Tech Common Book and preparation for portfolio review. Art History majors are not required to take the course.
