ARBC-3474: Topics in Arab Cinema
Description: Examination of the cultural, intellectual, and historical contexts of Arab cinematic works. Exploration of the ways in which Arab cinema reflects the dynamics of political, economic, and social change in modern Arab societies, as well as how the Arab world is represented in Western films. Variable topics such as war and conflict, terrorism, postcolonialism and movements for national independence, feminism, gender and sexuality, and globalization. Taught in English. Variable content. May be repeated 2 times with different content for a maximum of 6 credits.
