Description: Basic functional principles and theory for naval engineering systems and system engineering processes. Particular emphasis is given to: naval missions; combat system performance including radar; underwater acoustics and sonar; ballistics; weapon propulsion and architecture; weapons effects; ship survivability including underwater explosion and shock waves; surface ship and submarine hydrostatics, balance and feasibility analysis; and total ship integration.
